Some orb photographs seem to convey that there is a face inside an orb. This is often used as an argument that the orb must be paranormal. Before jumping to such a conclusion any possible and indeed more feasible natural explanation should be considered. Patterns inside orbs can be formed quite naturally - such as multiple concentric circles. This is a natural photographic effect. Once a circle of confusion is created by out of focus particulate matter in front of the lens any matter on the lens surface or lens irregularities themselves may start to appear "inside the orb". Fingerprints, moisture, dust or scratches may contribute essentially placing random detail "in the orb". From there Pareidolia kicks in and you have a face.
