Hi Dianne,
All metadata has been striped and the image modified - is always best to review the original file from the camera. But just off this image the "orb" appears typical and so a natural explanation is most likely. The light trail is probably just the result of a night shot on a compact digital camera giving a slightly longer exposure and allowing any points of light to trail.

Oh ... can't see a person in there! It may be discernible by brightening the original image ... but then again that could be introducing pareidolia from the random darker background pixels.

just posting it again and tried to clear it up a bit, brighten it. I must be going nuts but i can see a profile of a man at the bottom of the orb? could be my eyes just wanting to make something of it ;D Also including my blue mist picture to see what you think . it was taken second floor Old Melb Gaol in front of condemed cell. There was nonone up there at the time and nothing was shown on monitor downstairs.

I'm going with dust illuminated by flash for img 1 and the fog I'm not sure, I would need to see a much larger image to guess.

I can see something below the "orb" but it would be difficult to rule out pareidolia. With the second image it's just to low resolution to tell. If you have the original, unaltered pics you can submit them to ghostresearchinternational.com/Formpic/form.php for analysis
