2.4 Offensive posts
No post shall be made which, in the opinion of the moderators, has the intent to hurt or offend anyone. Civillised discussion is encouraged, without the inclusion of threats, rudeness, disruption or insults.
2.5 Argumentitive or Hostile Posts
Forum members come from a range of backgrounds and belief systems. There are also research groups from all around the world with differing methods and approaches to their research. Some believe in ghosts, some don't - some are firm believers and some a hardened skeptics. Unfortunately there are also others who only wish to argue and promote conflict - the later will not be tolerated.
2.4 Think before you post!
Consider carefully what others have said before you reply and consider how your post may be interpreted. It is very easy to make incorrect assumptions when communicating via text only, without hearing or seeing the other party. You may even be arguing with someone who actually shares your point of view!
Examples include:
- Do not assume that someone believes or disbelieves in something until they actually say so - people who research the paranormal don't necessarily believe or disbelieve a given theory - that's often why they are researching!
- Equipment may be used to provide evidence of unusual activity or to provide a natural explanation - do not assume someone using it believes it will magically locate a ghost. Also, its use may be simply to provide more data - or to evaluate one of the many unproven theories that abound in this field. Saying that a given piece of equipment has no use in research is different from saying you believe it is being used incorrectly.
2.5 Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to move, modify, delete or lock any thread at their discretion. If a thread is locked no one shall create a similar thread in an attempt to circumvent the blocked one.
2.6 Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to move, modify or delete any post at their discretion.
2.7 No member shall publicly argue against the decision of a Moderator or Administrator to block, lock, delete or modify a post, topic or thread. Should points of moderation be an issue any complaints should be submitted by personal message through the forum.
