Paul Bradford from Sonoran Paranormal Investigations (and a new addition to the sci-fi series Ghost Hunters International) is distributing an new item known as "E-Pods".
In Paul's words - "The idea is to have say 4 of these device in a hallway, if something (entity) is moving up that hallway then you should see each pod react as the entity gets close to it there by being able to identify not just some random spike on an EMF meter but the actual movement of the EM Field.
The Red LED of the E-Pod will remain ON and as a charged object slowly approaches the Pod, the Red LED will begin to dim in relationship to the e-field strength and proximity to the static source. Eventually the LED will go off when the charge is within a few inches of the Pod. The Red LED light will slowly come back on again when the charged object moves away from the e-field."
After seeing what these are going for on ebay I decided to do a bit of DIY work and build one well actually three from scratch. They are undergoing further test now and it looks promising. I am working on a 12 unit array we will test soon. This was the first transient electrostatic test thanks to my volunteer If you guys want to move this somewhere else feel free, I just wanted to give an update to our e-pod quest.

Looks to be working fine mrx, only thing I could suggest is to have the lights normally off and illuminating only when tripped. Would be easier to pick up during post investigation review and would save on power too.
Thanks, I agree. The way they work now is, if they go out that indicates a negative charge, however if you see one brighten, it is registering a positive charge. I could build them to detect just negative but the other team members wanted this option to document any chance of a polarity shift in an anomaly which would truly be hard to explain. BTW, we just finished editing the video of the last hunt where we tested these so I should have some much nicer video of them soon.
