Hi
My name is Lily and I am new to the site.
Have read some interesting posts and would like to add one of my own.
Have any of you had the experience of talking to or seeing a spirit that you thought was a living person only to discover they were not?
I would be very interested to hear back from those who have.
Thanks, Lily

Hi Lily,
Yes, the encounter which set me on my path of researching reports of ghosts involved what is often called a "shadow person". I believed this to be a living person in the room with me until I reached out and tried to grab it - my hand passing right through. Their was no auditory interaction however.

Hi Lily & welcome to the forum.
In answer to your question, I have had something similar to this occur to me in broad daylight (mid afternoon), I saw my next door neighbour at her front gate, at the time I was talking to another person outside my neighbours gate, and my neighbour was standing on the inside of her gate, we looked at each other but I didn't get the chance to speak to her.
My neighbour who is in her 90's had been in hospital for some time & had been away from her home for months and I had not seen her family for about 4 weeks or so so I didn't know how she was doing. There was no sign of her or anyone else at the house for some weeks after I saw her, then finally her daughter came to check the house & I found that my elderly neighbour had not been home at all, that she was now in a nursing home, had lost a huge amount of weight, could barely walk & was suffering a bit of alzheimers, I also learned that she had almost passed a couple of times.
This has intrigued me ever since, and although my neighbour hadn't actually died, I did see her and she looked just as real as the other person I was talking to, but not in the way her daughter had described her condition to me, she looked as healthy as she had been before entering hospital.
I wonder if when I saw her could have been one of the times she had a near death experience.
Would like to hear your or anyone else's experience with this.

HI!Lily, My experiences with EVP research has completly opened my mind to the existense of life after death .I do not see them but know they are there. They come through in my recordings and to me that's enough proof. Take care, Kevin

I was once in the gift shop of a historic house with several of my friends, waiting for a tour of the house to start. Everyone that works there is dressed in period clothes. There was a lady behind the counter, probably in her 50's. An older lady, that looked to be around 70 was seated in an antique chair in the corner, close to a hallway that lead to the kitchen and bathroom. She was smiling and watching my group of ladies. I asked the lady behind the counter if the tour was on a schedule, did it start at a certain time. She said, no, we'll start when the tour guide gets here, I'm the only one here right now. I looked around, and no lady sitting in the chair. I asked "Wasn't there another lady just here?" She told me no, they had just opened, and no one but her there yet.
