Sometimes you will see photographs which contain orbs which seem incomplete - where there are missing pieces. Most of these photographs show not one but a number of orbs which all vary in size, brightness and transparency. Remember also that particulate matter/insects can vary in size, distance and degree of illumination from the flash. Their position in regards to the flash and lens will also effect how the resulting "circle of confusion" appears. It is quite common for these to overlap and effectively mask other circles of confusion, creating the illusion of an "incomplete orb". This is reproducible and if you take enough photographs of "natural orbs" (circles of confusion) you'll see it is quite a common photographic effect. When you see such images ask yourself what is more logical - the above or that there is a ball of paranormal energy somehow ejecting a piece of itself, leaving a void area which in fact should not be visible if the orb is a ball of energy emitting its own light?
