This page is to supply further information for anyone wishing to join the GRI affiliate program.
It is important to note that the Affiliate Network IS NOT a means of just exchanging banners. It is a way for teams to interact for the benefit of all concerned.
Whilst the affiliate network does not exist to police researchers or their methods, there are guidelines in place for applicants in order to help ensure that network members are of a certain standard.
Some of these guidelines are set out below:
- Applicants must be active members of the GRI Forum. (If you're reading this you're half way to fulfilling this requirement!) Upon becoming an affiliate access will be available to the affiliate section of this forum.
- Applicants must have at least 1 years experience as a research group. Ideally there will be evidence of this on your website.
- Applicants must not charge clients for investigations and also state this on their website.
- Applicants web site and email address should be hosted on a dedicated server, rather than through Yahoo, MySpace, free webs etc... Having a yourgroup.com address for your site and email portrays a professional approach to research as well as a commitment to your group and an intention to continue research in the long term.
- Your application should contain a postal address, contact phone number (or online comms id such as Skype name etc...).
- State whether or not your group has a policy that all members must pass a police record check.
- Your website should indicate that you are actively researching and provide details of at least one investigation. This gives some idea of your approach to research and techniques employed. Some groups wish to keep details of investigations away from public scrutiny, if this is the case you should provide a sample via your application, private link or email attachment.
- Your website should contain a list of members and perhaps a brief biography of each.
- Your website should contain a list of equipment used - this does not need to be extensive, but reflects your approach to investigating.
- You should not be seen to present the various highly disputable aspects of the field such as orbs etc... as truly paranormal without specific supportive evidence. Taking this further you should not be seen to portray any reported activity as truly paranormal without providing substantiating evidence.
- If claiming to be certified, authorized, qualified or recommended in any way - copies of supporting documents should be made available. Provide a link or attach file to application.
- There should be some evidence of a willingness to work with other groups in an harmonious manner. The network is not about trying to gain notoriety by putting others down ... it is about working together to promote better research and the sharing of ideas and resources.
- Please ensure you fulfil the requirements above before applying as re-applications are not accepted for 12 months. Should you be unsuccessful we still welcome your participation on the forum in the public area, as well as advertising your group in the relevant sections.
If you meet all of the above (including being a registered member of this forum) proceed to the Affiliate Application.
