Hi Jimmy,
This a very old Phenomena indeed, I guess everybody has their own personal views on this topic and other Cryptozoological creatures....as far as I'm concerned there are far to many unanswered questions relating to this and too many credable witnesses for it to be some kind of mass Hysteria, so as far as I'm concerned the Jury is still out on that one!!.
Cheers

I enjoyed the movie!!.......I agree with Jason, I don't feel this has been looked into enough, but I also don't think the 'Mothman' case was mass hysteria.

I think there's plenty of opportunity in the world for animals that haven't been discovered yet, but I lean towards Mothman being maybe something natural, but that has been blown up till it's become something altogether different.

well i feel no shame in telling that i myself have seen things. according to a mate who is (no joke he knew things about me only i knew) psychic im sensitive to Paranormal activity and i agree because me and my 2 brothers have all seen strange things. my experience was i walked outside and saw something perched on the power lines. it was large, greyish black and had red eyes. after this i became obsessed with the Paranormal and read into stuff, also i have a sketch somewhere. but i doubt that, the thing is my brother saw something too, he ran out and grabbed me, i had been out there for a long time. i later found out someone saw something flying away. few people believe it except those who looked at me as i told them. they saw i wasn't lying.

Jimmy, where are you located? When you see something, always first try to rule out something natural, that maybe you've never seen before. A lot of people tend to disbelieve what they have never had experience of before. That doesn't mean it never happened.

i live in Melbourne but this happened in Portarlington, that place always creeped me out. yeah i looked into animals that could have matched it. but the thing i got scared of the most is how it just stared right back at me... lately i have been doing more searches on it cos i can't seem to get it out of my head.

Research the biggest birds in your area, then go somewhere to actually see one, live or stuffed. My husband brought home a Great Horned Owl one afternoon he had caught. I'd heard them all my life, and I'd seen different kinds of owls, but it was a huge shock when I saw just how big this bird was. His head was twice the size of a humans and the wingspan was about 10 ft. I would have said birds don't get that big, but I'd have been wrong.

okay i have done some research on bird species, according to various sites no large species nest there. mainly owls and seagulls. i was thinking of going back to the site i saw it, maybe the whole town, and ask around.

Good idea. Talk to older people. (They've been around longer, and seen more, and usually know more about the animals in the area.)
