Shadow People

Have you witnessed a shadow person?

Hi Darren,

I have not seen a shadow person but there is a dvd series out called "Dead Famous". On the volume one dvd there is an episode on an investigation which took place at Alcatraz Prison. In this particular episode some mediums lock themselves in an area called the "hole" which are isolation cells where prisoners were punished. With only a video camera to produce a light source, you see a shadow climb up the wall and stop mid ceiling then move around. It is quite intrigueing. The investigation team also caught some very interesting evp's. If you can get hold of a copy, it is worth watching.

I don't know if they were shadow people or not but when i was younger, 19. i would always see these dark shadow creatures or people always peeking around corners of building watching me. i never felt any evil or negativity from them and they i never felt sacred of them. i haven't seen them in years now.

Darren, I personally believe that a shadow person is a human spirit that doesn't quite have enough energy to completely manifest. That would some-what explain the absence of light (color). What do you think about this?

Shadow people are of particular interest to me as my main encounter involved one, an experience which paved the path for me into this field.

i have seen one in my bedroom when i did an itc experiment and on the next morning an apparition appeared in my room coming from my lcd tv i saw the screen become bright it looked like ectoplasm then a shadow appeared in from of me and i was watching tv at that time it was 11am and i froze i think it passed through me

I personally think these shadow people are just people who have not fully acknowledged that they have passed over or just do not want to. I do see them i am psychic and i never genuinely
get a good feeling of them.

I think nearly everyone one i know has seen them whether it is truly our imaginations or not i don't know but it is an interesting subject.

Interesting subject. I have seen shadow people in my current home. does it make a difference whether you see them straight on or side glances? cause I see them both ways but I usually acknowledge the ones I see straight on. Ive seen them in the daylight as well as in the darkness..Ive recently seen a shadow person at 5:15 pm the sun was just beginning to go down... Im really interested. and trying to gather info on my experiences in this home as we are moving to Victoria at the end of the year..

Hi Darren,

I'm still trying to work through my own theories on this subject. I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I too have witnessed them during investigations. I tend to believe that most reports of shadow people are not paranormal at all, but are simply optical illusions or misinterpretations of natural phenomena.

I have only just recently seen what i would describe as a shadow person. It wasnt in direct sight but it was very clear and moved fast and it was as black as night.

I have witnessed shadow people on several occasions. I do believe that they are spirits that do not manifest completely because they do not want to. They are in a state that they can do one of two things. Make a fast "poof" retreat or they can interact.

I've also heard of shadows that are small, under 4 ft. and some people say they are not people, but their own creature, like a gnome or troll would be not human. In fact, the small dark shadow creature is what I always heard of more often until the popularity of shows like Ghost Hunters said they were people. I don't think I ever heard that they were menacing in any way.

I was going to start a new thread, then remembered this one.. A lady I know that has a very active house, was saying that one day she turned her head fast, and came "eye to eye" with a shadow figure. She said he was much taller than her, with a hat on. She said she jumped, and so did the shadow figure, and disappeared. So! There's a theory that maybe what we think is ghosts, are actually a live person in a different reality, or time, and if they see us, they think we are a ghost. So, what do you think?

Interesting thought PJ. I know the one I saw over a period of around 5 minutes seemed unaware of me and when it became aware (I put my hand through it) it reacted and then gradually moved away, fading as it went.

I've never seen a shadow person. One of my team members does, and it frustrates him that I don't see them. So the best I can do is when he says "There... take a picture" I do it. LOL I like the alternate reality theory too. At least for some things.

hey i thought ill add a story of shadow ppl,

when i was young like 4 i used to always feel something under my bed, in the end parents never belived me so one night i went under to try find what is was and there was a shadow type creature, it lauched at me then after that i never saw it again, scared the crap out of me at 4. but when i moved to another house with parents around 5-9 i always had to have my door open and in middle of night i would get woken up by noises, and see groups of 3 or 4 shadows walking on the wall in our hallway. no one was ever there.. now days i have only seen a few, there is one at the house i live at now but only comes out once in a blue moon, he died at our farm by a tractor, but i dont want to try anything as its my parents place..

I think Shadow people are demonic indites or lost souls .. I once saw a shadow type figure standing next to a wall in my old house it stood from floor to the ceiling and it distorted the image on the other side I rebuked it and he shadow ran to the kitchen area and I think left threw the window when My family and I went into the kitchen after this, every cabinet door was standing wide open. when we saw it there was a family visiting with us at the time and the spirit tried attaching it self to the 2nd families child after he began screaming uncontrollably and rolling around is when my wife and I began to rebuke this thing and it ran to the wall where the image behind it was distorted kinda looked as if you were looking threw water. the kid has not been rite ever since and is now in jail for doing extreme violent things after this occurrence ... so I do believe the dark or shadow people are hostile or demonic...

I have yet to see a shadow person, so I am still waiting to see one to form a complete opinion. My theory is that they are lost spirits, who are not sure where or what they want to do. Staying in shadow form makes them easily mobile on any plane of existence.

I also do have an alternative theory that they are evil spirits who remain in shadow form as an attempt to hide their identity.

Recently I had the oportunity to see a shadow person again. I observed it in an old building while on a walk through. We were in a U shaped room which looped back around itself. In the bend there is a window in the opposing wall. When I entered the room I looked at the window and saw a dark humanoid figure walking past it. I turned around and ran to that area where nothing was present. The only way off the floor was an open freight elevator we had just arrived in. It was exciting and un nerving.

IMO there is no evidence to support that shadow people (if real) are anything representative of evil or good, at least no more so than anything else in the field. The idea seems based more in symbolic interpretation, it's dark therefore it's likely evil or demonic, if it's white it's usually concidered good or angelic. It is entirely possible that we may be dealing with something far beyond ghosts, or demons but perhaps labled as all the above due to our lack of understanding and our preconcieved notions of events and existances outside of our personal and cultural paradigms and or belief systems.

I don't think it's wise to assume anything concrete about shadow people. Seeing one and imediately going into exorcism mode may not be the best course of action as we know far to little about what they may be or how to deal with them. I for one would not pretend to understand for that matter to think I would know how to get rid of it would be trully unwise IMO. The one thing that makes the shadow people stand out from traditional ghosts, is that they seem to always exhibit a form of inteligence and an almost stealth like behavior. This too is likely the root of their controversial nature.

Would like to record details about shadow people to see if a pattern emerges.

One common thought is that they may have less energy available so cannot fully materialize - but I dunno about this - may take just as much, if not more energy to block light. Eg black holes.

I don't know if it's a shadow person... I don't know what it is, but on occasions I have seen a dark silhouette in my bedroom just standing there, I glance straight at the shadow,
but take a few steps as i don't know what to think, a week or so later, I don't really know how long the silhouette was moving past a window bench in my kitchen, i didn't look up this time... wasn't sure what to think the second time.

There certainly seems to be different types of "shadow people", some with hats, some seen out the corner of the eye, some seen head on etc....

I have seen a shadow person or entity a few times over the past couple of years. A majority of the time it has been in my living room, which sometimes catches me off guard. (He is a sneaky one!)

Personally, I feel that shadow people are entities which for some reason are trying to hide their identity. Whether it be they have bad intentions or do not want to be recognized by a human or other spiritual entity. Though I do not feel the shadow person I have encoutered is evil, others I have seen give off an eerie presence.

This is only my theory, because I cannot help but wonder why an entity that could form into something does not fully form. Gotta be hiding from something.

I have seen the hat man straight on and he was not at the end of my bed, and he saw me. It lasted just under 5 minutes and my friend was with me and she saw him too. I believe he is a protector of children, even though he scared us by just being there. I have also seen other shadow people straight on.

Most children and many adults are afraid of the dark. You don't know what's hiding in the dark that you can't see. Maybe this is why many people feel shadow people are "evil".

pjay...I have to agree with the afraid of the dark being associated with shadow people, whether they are evil or not,it is a bit creepy to see one without a face. It all goes back to being afraid of the unknown.
